Rendering a scene w/ raytraced reflection. Part of it comes out with occaisional black specs. They consolodate and eventually there a solid black area.

The black area isn't consistent with reflections, seems to be more a function of geometry and perhaps distance/angle to camera. I only figured this out after increasing bounces and doing a region render. The region rendered fine. I rendered the whole image and the black is back. I figured I was on crack and increased bounces then regioned a test. The region came out fine. Full render bad. And... just as bad as with half the bounces.

It's starting to look more like a bug and less like a "bad settings there, Gruhn" issue.

My solution will be to just do as much region rendering as needed than save off the final. Soon as I get home tonight. Wish me luck.

Is anybody familiar with this? Is this known? Are you one of the many people who can never understand what I say?

False alarm. Turns out, now that I am awake, to have been a coincident geometry problem. Not sure HOW, but that's what it was.
