"Again the burden of losing rests upon my shoulders
And its weight seems unbearable
Your tomb is where your heart is,
I should have told her
But within me hid a secret so terrible

To cry is to know that you're alive
But my river of tears has run dry
I never wanted to fool you, no
But a cold heart is a dead heart
And it feels like I've been buried alive by love"

In terms of vision, I would give this 6 out of 5 if I could. The same goes for impact. When I first saw this photograph, it was metaphorical punch to the back of the head for me. I actually find it quite difficult to look at because it's so...real-looking, for want of a better word. Genuine. Honest. Authentic. Disturbing.

To me, this picture tells more than one story. Perhaps it's a still from a gritty violent film. Perhaps it's a moment stolen by a murderer for the trophy archive in his mind. Perhaps it's a scene happened upon by someone walking their dog or by children playing in the park on a sunny afternoon. The fact that this image could be about so many things makes it even more effective.

The costuming adds a layer of mystery because the model's clothes could be from any time in history. This image would feel equally as genuine if presented in a modern collection or as an interpretation of something older...a scene from a tragic romance.

I have a thing for claustrophobic composition, so the arrangement of the model's body and clothes, as well as the angle you've shot from, feel very satisfying. I can't think of a different visual arrangement that could make this better.

I would like to see the whole scene in sharp focus, shot with a smaller aperature. Actually, it'd be pretty awesome to see the same shot but with the hand at the front of the scene in focus and the rest of the scene soft. In my head, I can see three shots, side by side - everything in sharp focus, the picture as it is here, and a version with only the hand appearing sharp.

I actually feel bad giving a 4/5 for originality because I totally adore the picture and see absolutely nothing wrong with being inspired by existing concepts and imagery. Actually, it's pretty impossible NOT to be inspired by existing concepts and imagery and I think in this case, the fact that the picture fits so neatly into my own internal library of familiar horror-related concepts is a positive thing.

Yeah, I like this piece quite a bit. The crop, the idea, the mood, it's all working together. I can't really think of anything I would suggest to improve on, I can only point out what I believe is quite decent about this.
I like how her arm is angled, it's very unnatural - as if she was just thrown down there, the lack of blood all over the place really helps set the theme. It's outside, where a lot of photography like this isn't taken, and it's on bricks, which gives off a sort of otherworldly feeling, like this didn't happen in this time or place - The fabric she is wrapped in (or is that a shower curtain, ah who cares! it works!) made me think at first glance she wasn't even in clothing from this time.
The lack of gore, the suggested nudity, and the overall angle of the picture is A+. You've done a fantastic job here, the only thing I would even be able to suggest is, if you ever revisit this situation, perhaps a little more light on her face, or maybe a little more dark :) Just to even it out with the rest of the picture. I love it :)!
